New Perspective on Revenge

Many of us have faced rejection, discrimination, or unfair treatment in life, leading some to seek revenge to prove the offender wrong. Yet, let’s pause and ask ourselves, how has the idea of revenge truly worked out for us?

It’s easy to adopt a victim mentality, letting past hurts justify our inaction and hinder our potential for years. Dwelling on the past can consume us, replaying painful moments in our minds, and preventing us from living to our true potential. Holding onto anger and resentment can damage our lives if not approached with care.

Staying stuck in the past may seem like a form of justice, but in reality, it only perpetuates self-inflicted damage. Thoughts like “If it weren’t for what they did to me, my life would be better” or “It’s all their fault I am the way I am” keep us trapped in pain, often oblivious to the fact that the other person has moved on.

If this resonates with you, the key question is: what should I do? The first step is reflecting on how staying stuck in the past has served you. Recognizing the need to move on becomes apparent, and to find freedom, the responsibility must shift from blaming others to taking full responsibility for ourselves.
